Happy National Bowls Day everyone! To celebrate National Bowls Day- we hosted a special event to officially “open” our new green that was installed this past fall. Today, we had a great group of bowlers from across the bowls community come on out to celebrate with us and hear about all the hard work to get us to where we are now. To throw the ceremonial “first bowl”- we were excited to welcome our Member of Parliament and the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Seniors Darren Fisher who talked about the great work that clubs like ours do for our Dartmouth community and for the sport. Thanks to Charmaine Cameron for organizing the event (in addition to her work as Chair of our Greens Replacement Committee) and to Janice Marshall for setting up all of the after the ceremony social (with cake and other treats!).
